Beeses 5th Beer Festival
BeerFest10 will be on Friday 3 - Sunday 5 September 2010. Tickets are now on sale at the bar:
- £5.00 for Friday or Saturday*
- £4.00 for Sunday
- £12.00 for a weekend ticket
Each ticket includes a free pint. As in previous years, half of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Friends of Eastwood Farm and Friends of Troopers Hill groups. They are volunteers who work hard to maintain the Local Nature Reserves on both sides of the river near to Beeses for wildlife to thrive and people to enjoy.
* Please note that entry to Beeses on Saturday 4 September will only be possible with a beer festival ticket. We have never had a closed event before, but the numbers that we have attracted on the beerfest Saturday for the past two years means it is essential that we introduce some controls. So spread the word - it's a long way back up that lane after being turned away!
We’ve got some great music again this year, not least from the mighty Elvis Fontenot and the Sugar Bees who tore the place up in 2009 with some footstompin, jug-blowin, washboard-scrubbin zydeco, and you can check out the rest of the acts on our Calendar.
Once again, The Bristol Ferry Boat Company are running public trips from Bristol city centre on the Saturday, departing Welsh Back at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Contact The Bristol Ferry Boat Company by e-mail or on 0117 927 3416. Or you can show up under your own steam (geddit?).
We didnt get round to a report of last years festival, but we had available twenty two different ales, eight ciders and ten hours of live music (Rattlesnake Shake providing some Texas-style blues á la ZZ Top, a cracking blues band called The Riotous Brothers, Hank Williams-style country and western from Ponchartrain, and rockin RnB with The Monumentals, featuring Gypie Mayo and Pete Gage, both ex-Dr. Feelgood.
You can see pictures of our third beer festival in 2008 here), and you can expect pretty much the same sort of thing this year.
