Ma Beese’s Gourmet Fish Suppers
Ma Beese’s Gourmet Fish Suppers debuted in 2009, earning a rare 9/10 review from top Bristol foodie Mark Taylor on the very first evening. Since then, Matt (the Beeses chef) has shown that he can consistently deliver a fine dining experience, and that he’s capable of more than just flipping burgers (except he uses slightly more, er, well seasoned language). The dates are again on the first Wednesday of each month in the season (well, mostly...see below or check the Calendar for all the dates). It’s the fish supper with a difference.
Especially when it’s steak night, or la menu gastronomique. Ma Beese and Matt have decided to mix things up a bit this year, so with July’s first Wednesday falling on the Fourth, and several requests for a steak night, they thought they’d combine the two. And you do get a small choice (steak or steak), instead of the normal set menus.
But it’s back to the set menu in September for la menu gastronomique. Inspired by an amazing meal Ma Beese had at Restaurant De Lauzun, she’s trying to bring a little bit of the Michelin-starred south of France to Bristol.
Reservations are essential – you can’t just roll up for these – so call 0117 977 7412 or e-mail us for details. The price is £24.95 for the fish nights, £21.95 for the steak night, and £30.00 for the six course menu gastronomique. A £10 per head deposit secures a place in all cases.
