Music at Beeses
We like music at Beeses. Lots of it. If we’re open while you’re reading this, the widget on the right tells you what we’ve played in the bar recently. If we’re not open, it’s what Pa Beese has been listening to while walking the dawgs. Dig.
We regularly have gigs, usually fairly uptempo stuff to get the place rocking. This year we’ve got a variety of acts once again, including classic rock from Straight Shooter; hell-raisin’ zydeco from Elvis Fontenot and the Sugar Bees for our beer festival; Hank Williams-style country and western from Ponchartrain, a mix of blues; acoustic delta country/folk/blues from Maryland, USA in the shape of Swampcandy, plus a bunch of others who aren’t returning our calls, so keep checking out our Calendar for the dates.
To help soothe away your Sunday afternoons, we will also have occasional appearances from the North Somerset Community Brass Band. Other acoustic acts may also appear from time to time, so keep your eye on our Calendar.
Beeses open mic night
The Beeses open mic nights will be happening again this year, taking place on the third Thursday in each month of the season. They will be hosted for us once again by the venerable John Blake of The Willbees. Everyone gets two songs each, with the chance to do another one at the end if there’s enough time. It’s first come, first served, so if you want to play early, get here early!
