Beeses News October 2006

Hello and welcome to the new list members

Newsletter No 2 finds Ma and Pa Beese well and Beeses going from strength to strength.  We’ve so much to tell you!

Beer Festival
Over the course of the weekend we had a couple of hundred thirsty customers sampling the excellent beers, good food and great live music.  We actually had 8 beers in the end and by far the most popular were TEA (Traditional English Ale - brewed by the Hogs Back Brewery) and Wild Hare from our superb local brewers Bath Ales. We will definitely hold another beer festival next year.

Beer - Special offer - £1.50 a pint 19, 20 and 21 October
However, we didn’t sell all the beer but it will still be good this weekend (Pa Beese has tended it well), so why not come and join us again this weekend when we will be selling all the real ales at £1.50 a pint (even Wetherspoons can’t compete with that!).

Food
Ma Beese is cooking up a storm every weekend, making sure there is hearty grub that sticks to your ribs.  Homemade soups are on the agenda; look out for Ma’s favourites spicy parsnip and leek and potato.

Ma is also currently sourcing quality suppliers to provide roast lunches.  Ma is keen to ensure the meat is organic and as local as possible.  The roast lunch experience at Beeses will be a little bit different.  Availability will be limited and by reservation only so that the quality is not compromised.  We hope to launch this in November and further details will be available nearer the time.

A new tea and coffee menu will be available soon; again Ma is sourcing suppliers of fair trade and organic teas and coffees, because although Ma can be tough she does believe in supporting local communities wherever they may be, and she wants Beeses customers to be part of that.

Ma has also started working on the menu for next year which will be available from Easter 2007.

Entertainment - Music and laughter
Ma and Pa Beese like to groove on a regular basis so we’re organising regular music.  The first to kick off is Gypie Mayo (ex-Dr Feelgood and The Yardbirds), who will be playing on the last Sunday of each month starting 27 October.  Those of you who came to the beer festival on the Saturday will already have enjoyed his guitar playing and Gypie will regularly be bringing along friends to accompany him.

Coming soon...
Eddie Martin unfortunately did not play at the beer festival, but he wants to make it up to us by playing another date.  Once we have agreed a date with him we will let you know.

Straight Shooter rocked everyone’s socks off at the beer festival and Pa Beese is going to help them out on the old bass guitar in the future so they will be back again.

We’re also looking at other sorts of acts, including some comedy, and we’ll be sending you more information about that soon.

That’s it for now folks and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

Stay in touch

Best Wishes

Ma and Pa Beese
