Children’s entertainment
On Wednesday 30 July at 3:00 p.m., you will be able to go with Captain Barnacle as he returns to Cutthroat Island to find his long lost brother and claim the gold, with the help of his girlfriend Zah Zah and their little doggy. He has to triumph over Pegleg Hooky the baddie pirate who just won't die! Suitable for children aged 4 and over. Price: £3.00 per child (includes soft drink and party bag).
Beeses open mic night
The Beeses open mic night is held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, hosted for us by John Blake of The Willbees. Our open mics of 2007 featured appearances by acts that perform regularly at the leading open mic nights in Bristol. The first one is on Thursday 10 April, and the rest of the dates are available in the calendar above.
Quiz night
Professor Beeses’ Quiz runs fortnightly on Tuesdays. The dates are available in the calendar above.
Beeses Beer Festival
Our third beer festival will be held on Friday 12 September - Sunday 14 September 2008. There will be at least twelve ales and four ciders, live music and home-cooked food. See our September newsletter for a report on our 2007 festival, and you can also read about our 2006 beer festival, which was reviewed in the local CAMRA branch magazine (it’s on page 8).
In 2007, half of the proceeds from ticket sales were donated to the Friends of Eastwood Farm and Friends of Troopers Hill groups. They are volunteers who work hard to maintain the Local Nature Reserves on both sides of the river near to Beeses for wildlife to thrive and people to enjoy.
